Located Directly on the South River, Patrons Can Rent and Go

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – MARSHFIELD, MA –  March 26, 2021 – Yup Sup, a specialty paddleboard company encouraging a positive, vibrant, and active lifestyle on the water, announces its first rental and retail location on the South River in Marshfield. The shop will rent stand up paddleboards and kayaks and also has a variety of  specialty paddleboards for sale as well as beach and resort apparel, coastal art, jewelry, and home accessories.

Yup Sup was founded in 2019 by longtime Marshfield resident Christine Perkett and also sells via an e-commerce shop. This is its first physical retail and rental location, located at White’s Ferry Marina on Ferry Street.  In addition to the rentals, the store houses clothing and jewelry and features art and photography from a variety of local and Massachusetts-based artists, as well as unique home décor featuring Humarock, Marshfield, and Scituate-specific designs.

“We are excited to have a unique SUP rental and beach shop open next to the marina,” said Audrey Baker, trustee of Ferry Street Realty Trust and owner of White’s Ferry Marina. “The river is a perfect spot to welcome paddle boarders and kayakers and to celebrate the spirit of Marshfield’s waterfront community. Yup Sup is providing an easy way to enjoy our beautiful town.”

The beach boutique, located at 1248 Ferry Street near the Sea Street Bridge, will be open Thursday – Sunday in April and every day of the week May – September. The retail store will be open year round. Rentals start in May and will include online booking options.

“I’ve lived in Marshfield for over 20 years and was thrilled when the shop location opened up because it’s directly on the river and a perfect spot to allow  residents and tourists a way to easily paddleboard and kayak,” said Perkett. “I feel honored to be able to help people enjoy our waterways and town – since we’re on the river you don’t have to have a car of other way to transport the boards and kayaks – you can just rent and go directly from our dedicated dock. It’s a bonus that I can also enjoy a water view while working in my office and jewelry studio.”

Perkett is an experienced entrepreneur who has founded three companies. She lives in Marshfield with her husband, children, and three dogs.
