About the artist: Ann Marguerite Murphy (a native New Englander) find's nature's spirit inspirational and paints mostly along the coast of Maine and Massachusetts. Her love for the ocean began as a young child when summers were spent at her grandparents' cottage in Scarborough, Maine. Ann spent August at Higgins beach until she was 9 years old. After that, all summers were spent at her family's summer home in York Harbor Maine--where she met her husband. The salt air, calmness, and beauty of the ocean create a sense of both tranquility and inspiration in her work.
